What's in the box
Your POV One package includes the glasses, a magnetic charging cable, two interchangeable lens sets (photochromic lenses that automatically tint with changing light, plus dedicated sunglass lenses for bright outdoor conditions), rubber anti-slip nose holders, a microfiber pouch, and a quick-start card.
Charge before first use
Connect the magnetic charging cable to the right temple of your POV One. The connector is magnetic — it'll snap into place automatically. A full charge takes approximately 60 minutes.
While charging, the status LED under the right temple glows solid red. When fully charged, it turns solid blue.
Download the HeyCyan app
POV One pairs with the free HeyCyan app, available on the App Store and Google Play.
iOS: requires iOS 13.0 or later · Android: requires Android 8.0 or later
Power on
Press and hold the front physical button on the right temple (the button closer to the lens) for 2 seconds. You'll hear a voice prompt confirming.
The status LED under the right temple will start blinking blue — this means your glasses are searching for a phone to pair with.
Pair with your phone
1. Turn on Bluetooth on your phone and pair with "POV One GS4 Max_xxxx" from your phone's Bluetooth settings.
2. Open the HeyCyan app and tap Connecting devices.
3. Your POV One will appear in the discovery list — tap to connect.
4. Follow the in-app prompts to finish pairing.
Once paired, your POV One will automatically reconnect to your phone whenever it's powered on nearby.
First firmware update
The app will prompt you to install the latest firmware after your first connection. Keep your glasses charged and your phone close while the update completes — usually just a couple of minutes. Don't disconnect until the app confirms it's finished.

Firmware updates
HeyCyan pushes firmware updates through the app whenever new features or fixes are available. You'll see an in-app prompt when an update is ready. Keep your glasses charged, stay near your phone, and let it complete before disconnecting.

Sharing
Share any photo or video directly from the Gallery tab using your phone's native share sheet — works with Instagram, TikTok, Messages, email, or any other app installed on your device.
Privacy
Your photos and videos are saved locally on the glasses, then transferred to your phone when you choose to import them. They are not automatically uploaded anywhere.
If you use AI features (translation, transcription, voice assistant), HeyCyan collects audio, transcripts, and location data on its servers in Singapore to power those features.
Full details: HeyCyan Privacy Policy. To request deletion of your data, email privacy@heycyan.com.
Cost & subscriptions
The HeyCyan app is completely free — no subscription, no premium tier, no hidden costs. All photo and video transfers happen locally between your glasses and your phone (no cloud paywall).
Troubleshooting
Common issues and the steps that fix them. Tap any item to expand.
My glasses won't pair / Bluetooth won't connect
- Confirm your glasses are powered on — the status LED should be blinking blue.
- In your phone's Bluetooth settings, forget any previous POV One / "G…" entry.
- Restart both your phone and your glasses.
- Try pairing from a second phone to isolate which side is the problem.
- If nothing else works, factory reset as a last resort (contact support first — see below).
For frequent disconnects: stay within 3 meters of your phone, turn off other nearby Bluetooth devices to reduce interference, and make sure both your firmware and app are up to date.
The app can't find my glasses
- Forget the device in your phone's Bluetooth settings, then re-pair from inside the HeyCyan app.
- Force-close the app and reopen it.
- Confirm your glasses are charged.
- Android only: Turn on Location services — Android requires it for Bluetooth device discovery.
- iOS only: Confirm HeyCyan has Bluetooth permission in Settings → Privacy → Bluetooth.
- Make sure you're on the latest version of the HeyCyan app.
Photos or videos won't transfer to my phone
- Make sure your phone's Wi-Fi is on during import (the phone needs to join the glasses' hotspot).
- In the HeyCyan app, tap the drop-down at the top and restart your glasses from the app — this fixes most stuck-import cases.
- Restart the HeyCyan app.
- Update both your firmware and the app to the latest version.
- If your home router is interfering, try importing in a different location.
- Check that your phone has enough free storage.
Battery drains too fast
POV One's 270 mAh battery is rated for up to 10–12 hours of music playback or roughly 120 hours of standby. If you're seeing significantly less:
- Video recording and continuous Bluetooth audio are the heaviest draws — heavy use will deplete the battery much faster than standby.
- Weak or intermittent Bluetooth signal forces the radio to retransmit, which accelerates drain. Stay close to your phone.
- Make sure your firmware is up to date — efficiency improvements ship in updates.
Audio isn't working / one side is silent
- Confirm your glasses are powered on and connected to your phone.
- Check that your phone's Bluetooth audio is routed to the glasses (not the phone speaker).
- Unpair and re-pair your glasses.
- Restart Bluetooth on both your phone and your glasses, then re-bind.
If only one side is silent: check your phone's audio balance slider (iOS: Settings → Accessibility → Audio/Visual; Android: Settings → Accessibility → Hearing). Then clean the speaker grille on the affected side — debris or earwax can muffle audio.
Touch controls are unresponsive
- Wipe down the right-temple touchpad with a microfiber cloth. Skin oil, sunscreen, or sweat can interfere with capacitive sensing.
- Power your glasses off and back on.
- Update to the latest firmware.
- If the problem persists, contact our support team.
Firmware update keeps failing
- Disconnect Bluetooth on your phone.
- Uninstall the HeyCyan app.
- Reinstall HeyCyan from the App Store or Google Play.
- Reconnect your glasses via Bluetooth.
- Retry the firmware update.
Keep your glasses on the charger and your phone close, with the app foregrounded for the entire update. If the update still fails, contact our support team.
My glasses won't charge
- Confirm you're using a 5V / 1A adapter. Fast-charge bricks won't work and can damage the battery.
- Clean the magnetic charging contacts on the right temple — debris, skin oil, or moisture can interfere.
- Try a different cable.
- Watch the LED: a red light when you connect = charging is happening (battery may have been deeply discharged; wait 10 minutes and re-check). No LED at all = cable, adapter, or contact issue.
The camera won't capture
The most common cause is that local storage is full. Open the HeyCyan app and import any pending photos and videos — your glasses' local storage will auto-clear after a successful sync, freeing space for new captures.
Also confirm the front white LED is lighting up when you press the capture button. If it isn't, the gesture didn't register — try again with a more deliberate press.
Frequently Asked Questions
The most common questions we hear from POV One customers.
Are the lenses prescription-compatible?
POV One ships with non-prescription lenses (photochromic + sunglass sets). Prescription fitting is not currently available. Please do not attempt third-party prescription lens replacement — modifications will void your warranty.
Can I swap or replace the lenses myself?
Yes — POV One includes two lens sets out of the box: photochromic lenses that adapt automatically to changing light conditions, and dedicated sunglass lenses for bright outdoor use. You can swap between them yourself, no tools needed.
Are POV One water-resistant?
POV One is built to handle sweat and light splashes — perfectly fine for everyday wear, exercise, and being caught in light rain. Do not wear them in the shower, while swimming, or in heavy rain.
Clean them with a dry microfiber cloth. Never submerge or run them under water.
What's the warranty?
POV One comes with a 1-year limited hardware warranty against manufacturing defects, starting from the date of purchase. This covers hardware failures under normal use.
The warranty does not cover accidental damage, water damage, or unauthorized modifications (including third-party lens replacement).
To file a warranty claim, contact us with your order number and a description of the issue.
Do POV One work without my phone?
Yes. After your first-time pairing, your POV One can capture photos, video, and audio independently — no phone needed.
Music playback, calls, the AI assistant, real-time translation, and media transfer all require your phone to be connected via Bluetooth or Wi-Fi.
Is there a subscription?
No. The HeyCyan app is completely free — no subscription, no premium tier, no hidden costs. All photo and video transfers happen locally between your glasses and your phone, with no cloud paywall.
Where are my photos and videos stored? Who can see them?
Your photos and videos are saved to your POV One's onboard memory until you import them to your phone. They are not automatically uploaded to the cloud.
If you use AI features like translation or transcription, audio, transcripts, and location data are collected on HeyCyan's serveCyan's servers (based in Singapore) to power those features. Full details: HeyCyan Privacy Policy.
